TRANSPARENCY

Transparency in government is another area where I believe we need to raise our expectations, and as your commissioner I did just that.

• The first month I was in office, we began broadcasting our public hearings live on Channel 12 and posted recordings of them online.

• That same year we began holding Coffee with the Commissioner meetings, to give you the opportunity to ask us questions directly;

• We also created the Inside Mesa County class, to offer the opportunity to learn more about how the county operates;

• And implemented our annual State of the County report.

This was important to me, because I believe we should make sure tax payers have access to know what their government is doing,
